Open House

The North Smithfield Heritage Association will hold an open house at the Memorial Town Hall building on Main Street on Saturday, Nov. 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event is open to the public and face coverings are mandatory.

Blood drive in memory of Anna

A blood drive in memory of Anna K. will be held at Scouter’s Hall on Saturday, Nov. 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Donations will be accepted by appointment and can be scheduled at https://donate.ribc.org/donor/schedules/sponsor_code using sponsor code 5005. Walk ins will only be accepted if spacing permits at the time of arrival. Donors are reminded to eat, hydrate and bring identification.

Veteran’s Day

There will be no trash/recycling pick-up on Wednesday, Nov. 11, as the town celebrates Veteran’s Day and pickup will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week. The recycle center will also be closed on Wednesday and Saturday hours have been extended with the facility open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Snack Pack drive

Sullivan Hough will hold a food drive at North Smithfield High School on Saturday, Nov. 14 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to benefit the Burrillville Weekend Snack Pack program as part of her senior class project.

The program aims to help alleviate child hunger by providing food to Burrillville children on weekends.

To help out, bring non-perishable, unopened food  items that are not in glass containers for contactless drop off.

Early movies

The Rustic Tri View Drive-In has changed its hours to comply with the latest COVID-19 restrictions. Gates will open at 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights and 5 p.m. on Sundays to allow guests to return home before curfew. Tickets can be purchased here. 

Town meetings

The North Smithfield Municipal Building Review Task Force will hold a virtual meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 10 starting at 5:30 p.m. The agenda and instructions to attend are here.

In his newsletter this week, Town Administrator Gary Ezovski recognized Beverly & David Munyon for their work in the 2020 election, helping to manage the process on every day of the early voting period.
