WOONSOCKET – Autumnfest 2020 has been dubbed “the year that wasn’t,” due to a pandemic that cancelled the 42-year festival, along with other events and celebrations across the globe.

To keep the spirit of the festival – which normally take place every Columbus Day weekend – alive, the Autumnfest Steering Committee has announced the first Autumnfest Rolling Parade, scheduled to take place starting at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 12 departing from the Hamlet Middle Schools.

The Autumnfest Rolling Parade will consist of numerous vehicles that will travel around the city of Woonsocket to remind residents that Autumnfest will be back in 2021, according to members of the committee. The event also aims to recognize first responders from the Woonsocket Police and Fire Departments, as well as doctors, nurses and staff at Landmark Medical Center.

Below is the parade route.

Starting at Hamlet Middle Schools:
Turn left onto Hamlet Avenue then right onto Cumberland Hill Road to Oakland Grove
Right onto Cass Avenue to Landmark Medical Center
Left onto Nursery Avenue, proceeding to Poplar Street to Woonsocket Health and Rehabilitation Center
Follow Poplar Street to Nursery Avenue and turn left onto Cass Avenue
Turn left onto Mendon Road
Turn right onto Diamond Hill Road to Ocean State Job Lot and the Tractor Supply Company. Cross Diamond Hill Road to Woonsocket Plaza.
