NORTH SMITHFIELD – The town of North Smithfield Department of Public Works will be open additional hours this week to assist homeowners with cleanup after Tuesday’s storm. The DPW will be open to accept yard waste on Wednesday, Aug. 5, from 3 p.m to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Aug.8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The department is also arranging another round of curbside yard waste pickup for next week. DPW personnel and equipment will do yard waste pickup next Tuesday through Saturday. Trash and recycling pickup will be delayed a day due to the Victory Day holiday on Monday. The DPW yard is located at 281 Quaker Highway.
