Little League signups

Burrillville Little League is accepting registrations for the 2020 season and open registration ends this weekend. Parents can save money by registering kids before the Sunday deadline for the league, which will hold tryouts on Saturday March 14,  for Majors and Minors divisions at the Burrillville Middle School gym.

The league is also looking for volunteers to help with the snack bar for the 2020 season. Those interested should contact Autumn Smith at autumn.jade1981@gmail.com for information.

Local music

Acoustic trio Rivers & Rhodes, a cover band that plays “everything from Janis Joplin to Elle King,” will play at Hills Tavern & Grill on Friday, Feb. 28, with a set starting at 8 p.m.  The band is comprised of local Makahla Rivers, along with Back Rhodes members Jesse Desorcy and Chris Quiray.

Dave and the Angells will perform at Uncle Ronnie’s Red Tavern on Friday, starting at 9 p.m. and playing mix of the best rock, pop, dance and country songs. The trio includes Dave Pereira, frontman of the Rhode Island cover band, Idyll Minds, along with Phil and Jude Angell.

At the libraries

Pascoag Public Library will host an all ages Family Coloring Day on Saturday, Feb, 29 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Have fun coloring and relieve stress. No registration is required for the free program. To learn more, stop by the library or call (401) 568-6226.

Jesse Smith Memorial Library will host Snow Party & Story Time on Saturday, starting at 11 a.m., with books, songs and activities all about snow. The story time will end with a snow party where the kids can play in paper snow confetti. The event is  best for ages 3 plus and guests are asked to register in advance with the children’s department by stopping by the library or calling (401) 710-7800.

Stretch & Sip

Yoga with Ashley will hold another Stretch & Sip event at Bravo Brewing Company on Saturday morning, starting at 10:30 a.m. Visit Bravo for a 75-minute Vinyasa-style flow class, followed by beer tasting.

The event costs $15 for yoga only, or $20 for yoga and beer. Participants are reminded to  bring a yoga mat and water, as limited extra mats will be available. Register in advanced by stopping by Bravo Brewing Company during open hours, or Venmo @Ashley-Ciummo with the date you plan on attending.

Chicken dinner 

The Burrillville Townsmen Club will host a family-style chicken dinner starting at 6:30 p.m. Saturday night at the club in Mapleville. Tickets cost $12 and can be purchased at Champ’s Liquors or Chum’s Hardware, or by calling the club at (401) 568-3425.
