North Smithfield man arrested for distribution of cocaine in Massachusetts

BLACKSTONE, Mass. – A North Smithfield man turned himself in to Blackstone police on a warrant this week for a charge of distribution of cocaine.

John Sawtelle, 38, of North Smithfield was one of three locals arrested in what police say is “an ongoing drug enforcement effort,” according to reports.

Danielle Perry, 48, of Blackstone was arrested on Thursday, Nov. 26 and charged with distribution of cocaine following the execution of a search warrant at her home on Canal Street in Blackstone.

Malda Tyks, 44, of Blackstone, was charged with distribution of fentanyl on Friday, Oct. 18, after the execution of a search warrant at her home on Main Street.

According to a news release, the arrests are part of a larger drug-enforcement effort by the Blackstone Police Department over the past several months. The department has made multiple arrests of people accused of possession, sale and distribution of cocaine, heroin and fentanyl in the Blackstone area.
