Lunch & Learn 

Burrillville residents ages 55 and older who have pre-registered are reminded that Wright’s Farm Restaurant will host a Lunch & Learn event on Thursday, Nov. 7, with doors opening at 11 a.m. The free event is the latest in a series aimed at improving life for the town’s aging population, put on through a collaboration by between volunteers from government, emergency services, healthcare and more.

BPAC meeting

The Burrillville Prevention Action Coalition will hold their monthly meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 6 starting at 5 p.m. at the Burrillville Middle School. BPAC discuss, plan, and give updates on substance use prevention initiatives occurring within town and the region. Residents of Burrillville are always welcome.

EFSB written order

The Energy Facility Siting Board is set to release a final written order in the decision to deny Invenergy Thermal LLC’s application to build a power plant in Burrillville on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Invenergy will have 10 days from the issuance to file an appeal.

First snow

The northwest corner of Rhode Island could see record cold and even some snow by the end of the week according to the National Weather Service.

A storm system is on track to bring the first snow to the region around Thursday night into Friday, with temps to drop from the 50s into the 30s, and lows even into the 20s.

In a release Monday, Nov. 4, NWS noted that it is still too early to be certain of the storm’s course, but areas that see snowfall are expected to get between 3-6 inches.

Town meetings

The Branch River Park and Track Exploratory Committee will hold their regular meeting on Monday, Nov. 4 starting at 6 p.m.

The Planning Board will hold their regular on Monday, Nov. 4 in the Jesse Smith Library Community Room starting at 7 p.m.
