BURRILLVILLE – A crash on Route 102 on Tuesday, July 2 left one driver injured and a vehicle on its side off the busy highway.
The two-car accident at the intersection of Bronco’s Highway and Lapham Farm Road occurred around 4:50 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
According to police, a car traveling west on Lapham Farm Road failed to stop at the stop sign and upon entering the intersection was struck broadside by a vehicle going southbound on the highway. As a result, the westbound vehicle ended up on its side.
The operator of the tipped-over was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with minor injuries. The occupants of other vehicle reportedly all refused treatment.
Frequent accidents along the road, including a fatality in March, have recently led Town Councilors to request that the Rhode Island Department of Transportation consider safety improvements.
The crash is still under investigation.
