Star gazing
Jesse Smith Memorial Library will host a Skyscrapers Stargazing Party on Friday, June 28 starting at 9 p.m. Astronomers from the Astronomical Society of RI’s Skyscrapers Inc. will set up high powered telescopes on the Riverwalk to observe the night sky.
The all ages event will kick off the library’s summer reading program. No registration is required.
Forever Young
The award-winning band Forever Young: A tribute to the music of Neil Young will take place at the Assembly Theatre on Saturday, June 29 in a show starting at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $20 and can be purchased here.
Outdoor worship
Berean Baptist Church will host on outdoor worship service on Sunday, June 30 at 10 a.m. at the Stillwater Pavilion followed by at potluck. Church musicians will also perform bluegrass hymns including “I’ll Fly Away” and “He Set Me Free.” All are welcome to the event and guests are advised to bring lawn chairs.
Serve on the Pascoag Fire Commission
The Pascoag Fire District will elect one clerk, one moderator, three fire commissioners and one tax assessor this year and those interested in a position must submit a declaration of candidacy before 2:30 p.m. on Monday, July 8. Declaration forms can be picked up and dropped off at Hose Company #1 at 105 Main St. Pascoag between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Forest putty class
A resident who has applied to an early childhood education and fun program called Tinkergarten will host a free forest putty class on Sunday, June 30 at 10:30-11:45 a.m. at White Mill Park on East Wallum Lake Road.
The program brings play-based outdoor education classes for kids ages 1-8 to communities all over the country. Learn more and register for the event here or learn more about the program here.
