Crystal Lake Ice Tourney
The annual ice fishing tourney at Crystal Lake will be held on Saturday, Feb. 2, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is a $20 entry fee for the event, which includes fishing and raffle entry.
The Kevin Thatcher Memorial Benefit for Between the Cracks on Brothers Pond will also include a “best food on the ice contest,” with the winner to receive the coveted Golden Pork Chop Award.

Keep the faucets dripping
The frigid temperatures are finally scheduled to subside over the weekend, but the Pascoag Utility District reminds residents to let cold water drip from faucets served by exposed pipes whenever the weather is very cold outside.
Pipes that freeze most frequently are those that are exposed to severe cold, such as outdoor hose bibs, swimming pool supply lines, water sprinkler lines and water supply pipes in unheated interior areas such as basements and crawl spaces, attics, garages or kitchen cabinets. Pipes that run against exterior walls that have little or no insulation are also subject to freezing.
Album release
Jonas Woods has announced that the release of his new album through Old Bear Records, Whispers, will take place at a concert in his hometown.
The event will be held at the Assembly Theater on March 16 at 7 p.m.

Superbowl
The New England Patriots will make their 9th Superbowl appearance with quarterback Tom Brady on Sunday in a battle against the Los Angeles Rams, and there’s plenty of local places to catch the big game.’
Uncle Ronnie’s Tavern will host Superbowl Sunday with free drawings whenever the Patriots score a touchdown. There will also be a halftime hot and cold sandwich buffet. For reservations call 568-6243.
