Where in the world is Santa?

For more than 60 years, the North American Aerospace Defense Command has been tracking Claus every December 24, and 2018 is no exception.

Amid clear flying conditions, Santa Claus began his journey from the North Pole early this morning, Monday, Dec. 24, and is now delivering gifts to children around the world.

Some 1,500 military personnel and volunteers at an Air Force base in Colorado will also be answering children’s calls throughout the day and night. The tradition reportedly began during the Cold War when retailer Sears misprinted the number to a military base, advertising it as a Santa hotline.

Now, a group is available to answer children’s questions each year and report on his whereabouts. They even follow a handbook to handle different requests.

For the latest information on Santa’s movements this Christmas Eve, call 1-877-HI-NORAD (1-877-446-6723) or email noradtrackssanta@outlook.com.

Children can also watch a live stream of Santa’s progress across the globe here.
