Hands free

The state of Rhode Island’s new “hands free” law went into effect today. Holding a phone in your hand while driving is now officially illegal and comes with a fine of $100 for your first offense.

Farmer’s Market

The Burrillville Farmer’s Market opens tomorrow at Stillwater Mill Center from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Visitors can enjoy local food, arts and music from Saturday, June 2 through September.

The market will also be held every Thursdays from 3:30 to 6 p.m. at the Burrillville Town Common.

Book Sale

The Jesse Smith Library will hold a book sale in the community room on Saturday, June 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a members only preview sale starting at 9 a.m. Memberships will be accepted at the door.

Open Farm Day

Old Fieldstone Farm will host an Open Farm Day on Sunday, June 3 starting at 10 a.m. Guests are welcome to hang out with the animals and purchase items made at the farm.
