BURRILLVILLE –  It is the night when some believe barriers between the physical world and the spirit world break down, and in 2020, All Hallow’s Eve will fall on a Saturday night – the same evening as the full moon.

For many, including Bella Restaurant manager Tracy Calapai – a self-described psychic, medium and spiritual teacher – a celebration is in order.

The restaurant will host a Halloween Gala on Saturday, Oct. 31 from 7 to 11 p.m., with dinner, music, dancing, raffles, vendors and more.

Calapai is setting up vendors – including psychic readers – to join the Halloween celebration, with a portion of proceeds to benefit The Rhode Island Food Bank.

The Samhain Gala, on Halloween night, will be a new event for the Victory Highway restaurant, a family-owned business that serves fine Italian cuisine. Calapai notes that the business hosted a masquerade ball in the past, and in similar fashion, guests are encouraged to come in costume to the gala, which will be held in the restaurant’s large banquet hall.

Tickets will be limited according to statewide restrictions, with the ballroom only filled to a portion of its 180 person capacity.

The gala will feature music by DJ Buddy D, a photo booth, and of course, Bella’s top-notch cuisine.

“We are having a best costume contest,” Calapai said.

It’s just one way the restaurant – a Burrillville staple for the past two decades – will celebrate the season. The restaurant has recently added a limited delivery service, as well as heating to their outdoor dining, and Chef Gio Calapai is in the process of scheduling a Autumn Wine Dinner for a Thursday in October, with a date to be announced on Bella’s Facebook page.

Tickets to the Halloween/Samhain Gala cost $33 and  can be purchased on Eventbrite.

Editor’s note: Publisher Sandy Seoane has previously worked as a server at Bella Restaurant.
