BURRILLVILLE – A woman initially reported missing was rescued by a boat Saturday night on Wilson’s Reservoir after reportedly floating away from her party.

According to Burrillville Police Major Albert Carlow, officers were called to the scene by the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management around 9:15 p.m. on Saturday, July 25 for reports that a woman had gone missing, and officers were dispatched to Crystal Terrace.

Upon arrival, police learned that the woman had been located by boaters, and was responsive and answering questions. She was evaluated by rescue personnel and transported to the hospital for further evaluation.

Officers conducted a brief investigation, and learned that the woman was intoxicated and had floated too far out.

The incident was one of several to keep town officers busy over the weekend.

There were no injuries in a Saturday accident on Broncos Highway that held up traffic.

Carlow said a second crash on Lapham Farm Road involving a motorcycle is still under investigation, and no information has been released by police.
