Summer reading & Book Buddies programs

Pascoag Public Library has launched a summer reading program where participants can earn a badge for every hour they read. Kids in grades pre-K through 12 are invited to participate using the Beanstack platform to track their reading.

Sign up and learn more at https://pascoaglibrary.beanstack.com or call the library at (401) 568-6226 for more information.

The Church Street library has also announced its Book Buddies program allowing high school students to earn community service hours by doing reading, crafts and puzzles with pre-k through grade 2 students. The program will run on Fridays from 11 a.m. to noon, July 17 through August 7.

Masks will be required and registration is limited due to social distancing. To register, call (401) 568-6226 or email ptierney@pascoaglibrary.org.

The project was made possible in part by a grant from the Rhode Island Office of Library and Information Services using funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

Food delivery volunteers needed

The Burrillville food delivery program, which has been delivering Meals on Wheels to older residents who need it since the start of regional reaction to Covid-19 in March, is in need of more delivery drivers.

Deliveries are made Monday through Friday at 11 a.m. and volunteers are needed to fill in when regular drivers are unavailable. Prescription and grocery delivery drivers are also needed.

Those interested are asked to contact Andrea Hall at (401)  710-7429 or ahall@burrillville.org.
