MILLINOCKET, Maine — A 22-year-old Pascoag man died on Saturday, March 14, when a snowmobile he was driving struck a tree in Baxter State Park.

Timothy G. Lagesse was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed before the accident, according to the Maine Warden Service.

Lagesse veered off the left side of a trail in the south end of the park around 1:30 p.m. according to reports. The Maine Warden Service, Millinocket Fire Department, and a Baxter State Park Ranger responded.

Lagesse was pronounced dead at the scene and taken to Lamson Funeral Home in Millinocket.
