Land trust talks energy reform

Tonight, Monday, Dec. 9, Burrillville Land Trust will hold their monthly meeting and President Paul Roselli will give a presentation on potential changes to the Energy Facility Siting Act. Attempts have been made to change the EFSA, but none have made their way to the governor, and the land trust has active in working toward reform.

Roselli will give a summary on the progress that has been made to date at the meeting to be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at 111 Chapel St. All are welcome. The Burrillville Land Trust is an all volunteer, private non-profit 501(c)(3).

BHS Holiday concert

The Burrillville High School Music Department will present the annual holiday concert on Tuesday, Dec. 10, featuring the select choir, concert band and wind ensemble.

The concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Burrillville High School.

Build a gingerbread house

Pascoag Public Library invites guests to make their own gingerbread house on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 6 p.m. Registration is a must to ensure enough
supplies for everyone.

Register by stopping by or calling 568-6226. The program is free and open to both adults and children.

Sock collection

Burrillville High School is hosting a holiday sock drive through Friday, Jan. Senior Hannah Rigby is collecting donations of new socks to give to local shelters, noting that they are the #1 item needed in homeless shelters, and the least donated.

New socks of all kinds and sizes are sought. Donation boxes are available in the main office of the school, as well as rooms C-20 and D-18.

Town meetings

The Burrillville Recreation Commission will hold their regular meeting on Monday, Dec. 9 in the Jesse Smith Memorial Library conference room starting at 6:30 p.m.

The Pascoag Fire District will hold their regular meeting on Monday, Dec. 9 starting at 7 p.m. at 141 Howard Ave. for an agenda that can be found here. 

The Burrillville Zoning Board will hold their regular meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 10 starting at 7 p.m. at Burrillville Town Hall. The agenda can be found here. 

The Burrillville School Committee will hold their regular meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 10 at the Burrillville High School Media Center for an agenda that can be found here.

The Harrisville Fire District will hold their monthly meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 10 starting at 7 p.m. at 115 Central St. in Harrisville for an agenda that can be found here.

The Nasonville Fire District will hold their monthly meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 10 starting at 7 p.m. at the fire station at 2577 Victory Highway for an agenda that can be found here.

The Burrillville Town Council will hold their regular meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 11 starting at 7 p.m. at Town Hall for an agenda that can be found here.

The Burrillville Town Council will hold a workshop on Thursday, Dec. 11 starting at 7 p.m. at the Wallace Lees Public Safety Complex for presentation and discussion of a report from the Branch River Park & Track Exploratory Committee.
