Shelter seeks volunteers

The North Smithfield Animal Shelter is looking for volunteers. Interested parties can help out as many or as few days or hours as they want.

Toy drive success
The North Smithfield Police Department thanked Walmart, and all who donated to the 1st Responders Food Drive held on Saturday, Nov. 23, noting it was a great success.
Donations were delivered to the North Smithfield Food Pantry on Monday, Nov. 25.

Holiday on the Common 

The Holiday on the Common, originally scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 1 was cancelled due to inclement weather and has been postponed to Sunday, Dec. 15.

The event will include a performance by the North Smithfield High School Jazz Band, and caroling with local boy scout and girl scout troops. The free family-friendly event will also mark the town tree lighting, a visit from Santa, and crafts for kids and adults from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Slatersville Congregational Church.

Parking ban

The parking ban in North Smithfield has been temporarily lifted and will go back into effect at midnight tonight until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3.

Town meetings 

The North Smithfield Town Council will hold a special meeting on Monday, Dec. 2 starting at 6:45 p.m. at North Smithfield Middle School for an agenda that can be found here.

The North Smithfield Planning Board will hold its regular meeting on Thursday, Dec. 5 starting at 7 p.m. at the Primrose Fire Station for an agenda that can be found here.
