Members of the Downtown Pascoag Neighborhood Association are holding a calendar fundraiser.

At the libraries 

Fall story times begin this week at Jesse Smith Memorial Library and run through November 21. Sessions will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. for Sensory Story Time, geared for ages 3 and up; Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. for Little Explorers Story Time, geared for children under the age of 3; and Thursday at 10:30 a.m. for Preschool Page Turners, for ages 3 to 5.

Pascoag Public Library will present “Genealogy: You planted your family tree. Now What?” on Monday, Sept. 30 starting at 6 p.m. with Kathan Mospaw Lambert, president of Roger Williams Family Association. Materials will be provided and refreshments will be served. Registration is appreciated but not required.

BPAC 

The Burrillville Prevention Action Coalition will hold their monthly meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 6 p.m. in the media center of Burrillville High School at 425 East Ave. BPAC will discuss, plan, and give updates on substance use prevention initiatives occurring within town and the region. Residents of Burrillville are always welcome.

Volunteer drivers

On Thursday, Age Friendly RI and The Village Common will hold a meeting from 10:15 11:15 a.m. in the Jesse Smith Memorial Library Community Room to introduce a new Burrillville-based pilot program to provide free rides to Burrillville’s older residents.

Information will be provided to those interested in volunteering including vehicle requirements, scheduling, insurance and other issues.

Calendar fundraiser

The Downtown Pascoag & Neighborhood Association is having this calendar fundraiser to help cover the cost to block the roads for events. The association hosts several free events every year including the upcoming Pumpkinfest. 

Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased by messaging the group on the DPNA Facebook page here.

Annual fire district meeting

The Nasonville Fire District will hold their annual meeting on Tuesday, Oct 1 starting at 7 p.m. at the station at 2577 Victory Highway. Agenda items will include election of officers, including three positions for operating committee members; approval of an agreement with the IAFF union; and approval of a budget and tax levy.
