Genealogy

Pascoag Public Library will present “Genealogy: You planted your family tree. Now What?” on Monday, Sept. 23 starting at 6 p.m. with Kathan Mospaw Lambert, president of Roger Williams Family Association. Materials will be provided and refreshments will be served. Registration is appreciated but not required.

Seeking officer names

The Burrillville Police Department is in the process of making a memorial honoring every single officer who has honorably served the town of Burrillville. The department currently has a list of many current and retired officers, but is looking for the public’s assistance to complete the task. Residents are asked to post any and all names of officers who served with the Burrillville Police Department from the 1980’s and back, along with their years of service on their Facebook page here.

Volunteer drivers

Age Friendly RI and The Village Common are working with a committee of Burrillville volunteers on plans for a Burrillville-based pilot program to provide free rides to Burrillville’s older residents. The group will hold a meeting on Thursday, Oct. 3 from 10:15 11:15 a.m. to introduce the program to those interested in volunteering with information on vehicle requirements, scheduling, insurance and other issues.

The meeting will be held in the Jesse Smith Memorial Library Community Room and coffee and refreshments will be provided. For more information contact Tom Tatro at 568-5596 or Andrea Hall at 568-9470.

Town meetings

The Town Council will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 3 p.m. beginning at the WellOne Behavioral Health office at One High St. in Pascoag. The purpose of the meeting will be a WellOne site visit.

Later that same evening, the council will gather for their regular meeting at the Burrillville town building at 105 Harrisville Main St., starting at 7 p.m.

And a bonus “thing”

Pack 1 Pascoag’s first Cub Scout meeting will be held on Monday, Sept. 23 starting at 6 p.m. at the Beckwith & Bruckshaw Memorial Lodge at 50 Lodge Road in Pascoag. Troop 1 Pascoag Boy Scouts will meet same place starting at 7 p.m.

Those interested in scouting are invited to check out the troops. During the meeting, organizers will go over the program and answer any questions or concerns. All are welcome.
