BPAC
The Burrillville Prevention Action Coalition will hold their monthly meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 7 at 5 p.m. at the town’s safety complex at 1477 Victory Highway. BPAC will discuss, plan, and give updates on substance use prevention initiatives occurring within town and the region. Residents of Burrillville are always welcome.
Lunch and Learn
Burrillville residents ages 55 and older are invited to a free family-style chicken dinner at Wright’s Farm Restaurant on Thursday, Aug. 8 that will include a chance to catch up what’s new in local senior news, win prizes and visit with vendors that serve the town’s aging community.

Exhibit opens
A new exhibit at Jesse Smith Memorial Library opened this week that will use unique imagery to convey the urgency of action on climate change.

Mushroom hunting
Pascoag Public Library will host a lecture on mushroom hunting on Monday, Aug. 5 presented by the Mushroom Hunting Foundation starting at 6:30 p.m. Using a slideshow of local photography, the guest will explain the basics of mushroom science and safety, and the local spring species that are safe for beginners to cook with.

Town meetings
The Branch River Park & Track Exploratory Committee will hold their regular meeting on Monday, Aug. 5, starting at 6 p.m. in the Burrillville town building.
The Burrillville Planning Board will hold their regular meeting on Monday, Aug. 5 starting at 7 p.m. in the Jesse Smith Memorial Library community room.
The town’s Ordinance Subcommittee will hold their regular meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 6 starting at 2 p.m. in the town building at 105 Harrisville Main St.
