Cow Punk

Visit The Island on Friday, Aug. 2 for “cow punk night,” and enjoy from some free music by Jesse Braintree & The Hogge Brothers, Sunshine Riot and Mean Old Firemen from 7 to 10 p.m.

Zydeco

On Saturday, Easy Street Bayou, made up of several former members of the band Slippery Sneakers, will play a free concert at the Stillwater Mill Pavilion as part of the Riverwalk Times concert series. Enjoy Cajun, old R & B and swamp pop music out of the bayous, back roads and French Quarter at this outdoor show starting at 6 p.m.

Charlie Marie

Also on Saturday, Burrillville-based country singer Charlie Marie will perform at Oakley’s Bar & Grill starting at 6:30 p.m. Enjoy some live music on the patio of the venue at 1950 Broncos Highway.

Got talent?

Sign up now for Burrillville’s Got Talent, an event to be put on as part of the Burrillville Arts & Crafts Festival on Sunday, Sept. 15 from 10 a.m. until the winner is crowned.

Contestants 12 and older are invited to dust off their tutus, tune up their instruments, or warm up their voices for any act that takes less than five minutes. Celebrity judges will watch the event.

Lobster blast

Wallum Lake Rod & Gun Club will host their 4th annual Lobster Blast on Sunday, Aug. 4, with shooting starting at 9 a.m. and a clam bake starting at 3 p.m. Choose from a dinner of steak or lobster plus clamcakes, steamers, salad, strawberry shortcakes and more.
