Little League winners

Congratulations to Burrillville Little League 12/u on becoming the All Star District 4 champions with a 9-6 win over the Cumberland Americans last week . The team was eliminated at the state tournament on Sunday following a great season run.

At the libraries

Visit Pascoag Public Library on Monday, July 22 at 6 p.m. for a discussion group on the true crime story “Murder at Rocky Point Park” about the tragic 1893 murder of little Maggie Sheffield. Water project

Also on Monday, July 22 starting at 6:30 p.m,, Pascoag Utility District will hold a Special Meeting and ask customers to approve the Phase III Water cleaning/lining project. The district has secured grant funding for 43 percent of the project and approval would cost each customer less than $4 per month on average.

The project includes most of South Main Street and the connections to two water storage tanks.

Council meeting

The Burrillville Town Council will hold their regular meeting on Wednesday, July 24 starting at 7 p.m. at the town building on Harrisville Main Street. The agenda can be found here.

Lunch and Learn

Sign up now for Burrillville Aging Stronger’s second free Lunch & Learn event to be held at Wright’s Farm Restaurant on Thursday, August 8. Burrillville’s aging community, ages 55 and older, is invited to a family-style chicken dinner that will include a chance to catch up what’s new in local senior news, win prizes and visit with vendors that serve the town’s aging community.
