Concert in the stacks

The DeLoreans will play at Jesse Smith Memorial Library on Friday, Jan.11 for the latest in the Concert in the Stacks series. The band will play 50s to modern dance and rock music starting at 7 p.m.

Tabatha Lord

Tabitha Lord, author of Horizon and Infinity will visit Pascoag Public Library on Saturday, Jan. 12 at 11 a.m. as part of its author series. Learn techniques for world building in your creative writing.

Story time resumes this week at the library on Wednesday, Jan. 17.

Radio Badland

Rock band Radio Badland will play at Oakley’s Bar and Grill on Broncos Highway on Saturday, Jan. 12, with a show starting at 8 p.m. The band covers a wide range of material from the rock, classic rock and alternative music genre

DMV moves

If you’re planing a trip to the Department of Motor Vehicles, you should know they will officially move their Woonsocket branch this week to Diamond Hill Plaza.

The location at 217 Pond St., closed early on Friday, Jan. 11 for the move and offices at 2000 Diamond Hill Road open on Monday, Jan. 14.

The new registry branch will be easily accessible by RIPTA bus and has more than 50 dedicated parking spaces. 

The new branch location will maintain the same hours as the current location, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Most wanted page updated

The Burrillville Police Department has updated its Most Wanted webpage. BPD asks that anyone with information contact the department at 568-6255.

Two town leaders to meet

In what is being billed as a historic occasion, Burrillville Town Manager, Michael C. Wood, and North Smithfield Town Administrator, Gary Ezovski, will deliver respective ‘state-of-the-town’ addresses to the Lions Club serving both towns on Wednesday, Jan. 16 at 6:30 p.m. at Uncle Ronnie’s Red Tavern Function Room in Nasonville.  The municipal leaders will provide updates as to current and planned happenings in an informal setting followed by a ‘Q&A’ session for attendees.

The event is free of charge and open to all Lions, families, friends, prospective members, business leaders, and town residents; members of the general public are most cordially invited to attend.  Refreshments and a light supper will be served.  For further information, please call 568-4141 or 338-6334.
