Pumpkin Fest delay, Halloween fundraisers: Five things to know in Burrillville this weekend

Halloween Bazaar

On Saturday starting at 9 a.m., the Burrillville Historical & Preservation Society will hold a Halloween Bazaar and Indoor Yard Sale featuring a Halloween penny social, crafts, decorations for sale and a “spooktacular” assortment of delicious homemade treats including homemade pies. The event will be held until 3 p.m. at Bridgeton School at 16 Laurel Hill Ave.

Bake sale against the power plant
No New Power Plant Northern Rhode Island will host a Halloween Bake Sale selling cakes, cupcakes, homemade breads, pies and more from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Brigido’s IGA at 54 Sayles Ave. Proceeds will benefit the Burrillville Land Trust to help fund the fight against the proposed power plant on Wallum Lake Road.

Buy furniture, support veterans

Berard-Desjarlais American Legion Post 88 will hold a furniture sale on Saturday, Oct. 27 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 111 Chapel St. in Harrisville. The one day, cash and carry sale will include new, name brand furniture and sofas  and proceeds will be used to purchase banners for war veterans in town.

Children’s Halloween Party
The Jesse Smith Memorial Library will host a children’s Halloween party in the facility’s children’s program room, with crafts, games, music and more on Saturday, Oct. 27 from 11 a.m. to noon. Costumes are encouraged but not required.

Pumpkin Fest moved to Sunday

Downtown Pascoag Neighborhood Association’s annual Pumpkin Fest has been rescheduled from Saturday to Sunday evening due to weather concerns. The festival will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26. Learn more about the event here.
