Plant your family tree

Pascoag Public Library will host Planting Your Family Tree: How to get started in Genealogy Monday, July 23 at 6 p.m. at the library at 57 Church St. The presenter will be Kathan Mospaw Lambert, president of the Roger Williams Family Association. All materials are provided, and refreshments will be served. Reservations are appreciated by calling 568-6226, but are not required.

Meet your candidates

Two events in town will prepare you for the upcoming elections this week, with opportunities to meet both local candidates and one for a high-ranking state office.

On Wednesday, July 25 Judge Robert Flanders, a Republican candidate for the US Senate, will visit town to take part in a community forum from 6 to 8 p.m.. at First Universalist Church, 134 Harrisville Main St. Residents are invited to ask questions at the free event and stay after for refreshments. On Thursday, July 26, the Town Council candidates endorsed by the Burrillville Town Committee will host a Meet the Candidates fundraiser at the Townsmen Club. Tickets are $20 and can be obtained by contacting Berta Lacey at 401-368-0930

Travel presentation

Also on Thursday, the Burrillville Historical & Preservation Society’s will hold a travel presentation for a fundraising trip to Costa Rica by Collette Tours. The 12-day trip departs March 9, 2019 & includes 23 meals. Help catch a burglar

The Burrillville Police Department reports that there were a number of breaking and entering complaints reported on Friday, July 20. Contact the Burrillville Police Department at 401-568-6255 or through the Burrillville Police Department tip page:

secure their property before leaving home.

Claim your cash

Marlena Marie Meehan reports that someone lost a good amount at the restaurant’s Bronco Highway location this week. Meehan has locked the found cash in her office and is asking the owner to message her with the exact amount to claim it.

If no one claims by next week Meehan says she intends to donate it to charity.
