It’s another busy week in Burrillville. Here are five things you need to know:

Budget

The Town Council is scheduled to vote on Burrillville’s fiscal plan for the upcoming year at their regular meeting on Wednesday, June 13. The meeting will be held in the Burrillville Town Building at 105 Harrisville Main St. starting at 7 p.m.

Politics

Papers declaring the intent to run for office in the November elections will be submitted to the Town Clerk’s office on June 25, 26 and 27, and many candidates are currently announcing their intentions publicly. If you are running for office and would like to make an announcement on NRI NOW, contact Sandy Seoane at sandy@nrinow.news.

Lady fair

There is still time to catch My Fair Lady at the Assembly Theatre. The performance opened over the weekend and will take place again on Friday and Saturday, June 15 and 16, at 8 p.m., and Sunday, June 17 at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $15 and can be reserved in advance by calling 568-2929.

Splash

Burrillville Animal Control is currently seeking a new forever home for Splash, a 4-year-old female French/Bully mix.

The dog came from the large cruelty seizure in Smithfield and needs an experienced home with no kids and no other pets. According to animal control officials, Splash has resource guarding issues, which includes people and objects. Working with a certified behaviorist is recommended. She is more comfortable with women than men, and gives clear body language signals when she is uncomfortable or nervous. Workers say Splash is an energetic, fun, sweet girl with those she trusts. She is housebroken, crate trained and fully vetted.

Family Fair

It’s almost here! The 27th Annual Burrillville Family Fair will take place Saturday, June 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a rain date of Saturday, June 23. The Parks and Recreation Department, which puts on the fair, is still seeking both volunteers, and raffle items to benefit the Weekend Snack Pack program. Contact Burrillville Parks & Recreation Department at 568-9470 for more information.
