Graduation parking

Burrillville High School will be conducting their graduation ceremonies on Friday, June 8 and there will be no parking on East Avenue or Whipple Avenue starting Friday afternoon. Once the high school lot is full, attendees will be asked to park at Austin T. Levy School or the Burrillville Middle School, and will be bussed in for the ceremonies.

Museum opens

The Herring Pond Hotel Museum at Spring Lake Beach will open on Saturday, June 9 with an event at the facility’s Champlin Hall from 1 to 6:30 p.m. Guests will have the chance to gather and share their memories of the lake, while looking a photos documenting more than a century of its history.

Admission costs $3 for BH&PS members or $5 for non-members, and guests must register in advance by calling 568-8449.

Fundraiser for Sherry Patrie

The Burrillville Patriots will be hosting a chili cookout at the Townsmen Club to raise funds for Sherry Patrie on Saturday, June 9 from 6 to 11:30 p.m.

Patrie was in a car accident in March which left her in the ICU for several weeks and required multiple surgeries. Proceeds will help offset the costs of recovery, car replacement and home remodeling that were required for her walker and to be allowed home for physical therapy.

Ticket are $10, or a GoFundMe page has been set if you are unable to attend but want to donate.

Extended care registration

Registration for the Burrillville Extended Care program for the 2018-2019 school year is now open. The deadline is to register is August 1. Got some spare time this weekend? Register your child online here.

Serve your town

The town is seeking volunteers to serve on the Planning Board and the Zoning Board of Review. To apply to serve on any town board, fill out the application, available here, or visit the town clerk’s office at 105 Harrisville Main St.
